Immerse to learn faster and better: popular camp
Learning Mandarin has becoming a popular choice for many parents when planning children’s
summer camp. The Mandarin immersion summer camp is running at three locations this
year to meet the increasing demand. “Immerse into a full language environment, learn
faster and better.” Many parents take advantage of the summer time to expose their
youngsters to Mandarin language or boost their children’s language skills
Summer is always fun and educational at the Mandarin camp with plenty of things
to adventure. We visited the Gorilla families at Toronto Zoo on July 8th and went
to the Ontario Science Center meeting the Lizards and snakes on July 22nd! A group
of special guests is coming to our camp to share some interesting things about themselves.
Guess who? They are frog, lizard, snake, iguana, turtle and also a mysterious guest…
The camp program is well balanced with morning academic classes and afternoon fun
activities for school-agers, and a language-enriched full day learning experience
for preschoolers. Except the popular creative pottery class, we introduced two new
programs this year: Children Yoga and Special Guest Visit. You should see how our
4-5 years old enjoyed their Yoga class! The Motorcycle Design got our senior campers
really excited about how to work as a team and win the competition!
Most of all, students at camp are fully engaged in learning Mandarin by giving opportunity
to practice the language as much as they can. “We are committed to creating a full
immersion environment to maximize the exposure to the language”, said Ms. Jennifer
Chang, the camp director. At the Mandarin camp, learning is not limited to the classroom.
Students have the opportunity to hear, speak and read the language anywhere at the
camp, in the Gym, at the lunch, out on the field, at the playground, and on the
trips!
Here are some clips of the summer camp. Click for enlarged view. We are having tons
of fun while learning!
